The activities scheduled for February were inextricably
linked to a veterinarian’s visit, which took place at our school at the
beginning of the month.
During this visit our students learned about different
dog breeds and their unique abilities, how to safely approach unfamiliar
animals, and how to act responsibly when adopting a pet. They discovered the
importance of vaccinations, deworming, proper nutrition, daily exercise,
grooming, and hygiene -not only for the pet’s health but also for everyone’s
well-being.
Through active
discussions, questions, and role-playing activities simulating real-life
situations (like visits to the vet or everyday interactions with pets), the
children realised that caring for an animal requires love, responsibility,
consistency and commitment. Most importantly, they understood that as
responsible citizens, they play a key role in creating a society that respects
and protects every living being.
Building on the notes they had been asked to keep and the knowledge they had gained from this interactive presentation, our students worked in groups to write down rules for the proper care and respectful treatment of pets. Then they transformed these rules into colourful digital posters, which were uploaded to a collaborative noticeboard alongside posters from our partner schools in order to spread a shared message of responsibility and kindness toward animals.
Another highlight was the editing of the videos
recorded during role-play activities that were guided by the veterinarian.
Students added English subtitles to their performances, turning their
improvisations into creative teaching tools that shared their newly acquired
knowledge with their partners through the power of performative arts!
It is truly wonderful to see our students’ artistic
talents shine while passing on knowledge in such meaningful and engaging ways!
